Next fastest was Carolyn Ife with a 14.45 swim, 44.28 bike and 33.02 run, total time 1hr 35 mins. Lawrence Peckham was next with a 13.46 swim, 48.30 bike and 30.57 run, total time 1hr 39 mins. Pauline Cooper completed her swim in 21 mins, bike 56.56 and run 37.16, total time 1hr 58 mins. The every present Cath Johnston did a 25 min swim, 1hr 8 min bike and 40.08 run, totaling 2hrs 16 mins.
Lawrence said it was an excellent day. Great day out with friends and quite a few from the club were there, Cath was a star as usual she was so determined, he thinks we can all learn from her. Pauline stated that it was great well organised and well marshalled. Tough course with hills on bike and run course. One disappointment was both Pauline and Cath believe the swim times were a bit out? There appeared to be a fault with Cath and Pauline’s timing chips which may account for this. Cath thoroughly enjoyed it even if the hills on the bike leg were tough but she can now use the gears on her bike better. Carolyn found the swim extra tough as she has been swimming in open water and had forgotten how to swim in a pool! She loved the bike leg and took it easy on the run as she is being careful of a recent knee injury. Dan said it had great run and bike courses, well organised, good weather. Much preferred the numbered bike racking and amount of space between the racks. Reasonably happy with his time, and had nothing left at the finish. Disappointed that is the last triathlon and already looking forward to next year though he may enter the Carsington Duathlon.
