Below is a summery of news from the latest meeting held to plan for next years Burton District Summer League which will of interest to club members.
SDRR Conkers Race
Plans for the South Derbyshire Road Runners 5 mile race at Conkers met with approval and a provisional date of April 28th has been set.
Other League Races (all dates are provisional)
Uttoxeter Half Marathon – May 5th
Help with time keeping has been requested
Burton 10 Mile – Usual course is waterlogged and so an alternative is being sought
Washlands Relays – May 15th
Mid-Summer 10K – to be included in the 2013 league scheduled for June 18th
Worthington 5 Mile – June 25th
Gate Gallup – June 30th
Kingsbury Race – Venue abandoned, alternatives being investigated
Belvedere/Burton 10K – Date not yet fixed
Other Items
All forms will now have a statement banning the wearing of headphones and music players at races.
The number of races a runner needs to complete in order to be eligible for prizes has been reduced from 5 to 4.
Two additional prizes are to be added for the best male and female runners completing all 8 races.
