{"id":2597,"date":"2015-10-05T18:52:16","date_gmt":"2015-10-05T18:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sdrr.co.uk\/?p=2597"},"modified":"2015-10-05T18:52:16","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T18:52:16","slug":"shelton-striders-10k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdrr.co.uk\/?p=2597","title":{"rendered":"Shelton Striders 10k, Chester &#038; Metric Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tSDRR runners were out in force on Sunday for the latest Run Derby series event, the Shelton Striders 10k, with 18 runners competing. <!--more-->There were some excellent performances all around, not least from Dominic Sharman, who ran superbly to finish 9<sup>th<\/sup> in 35.37 seconds, the fastest 10k time by any SDRR runner this year. He was closely followed in 13<sup>th<\/sup> by Andy Hawtin, with a time of 36.27. Running his first race for a few months, Jack Leafe didn\u2019t quite get his pacing right, but still finished in 26<sup>th<\/sup> place in 37.58. The next three finishers for the Club were well matched, with Chris Gunstone just coming out on top, in 56<sup>th<\/sup> place. His time of 39.47 was his first \u201csub 40\u201d 10k for a number of years and also gained him 1st place in the vet 55 category. Christina Hawtin, also\u00a0 beat the 40 minute barrier in a time of 39.52, which gained her 58<sup>th<\/sup> position, whilst Andy Orme was close behind in 63<sup>rd<\/sup> place in a time of 40.08.<br \/>\nSimon Reynolds has been running well recently and ran another good race to finish 72<sup>nd<\/sup> in 41.06, followed by Steve Leafe in 81<sup>st<\/sup> in 41.45 and Nigel Atkins, who ran a season\u2019s best of 43.45, to come in 100<sup>th<\/sup> position. Kelly Knight was next home with another good time of 44.08 in 106<sup>th<\/sup> place, while Paul Glover took 3 minutes off his time in last year&#8217;s race, which gained him 122<sup>nd<\/sup> place in a time of 44.39, ahead of wife Tracey in 144<sup>th<\/sup> in 46.49. The next three runners for SDRR all took advantage of the excellent running conditions to record super PBs, with Laura Harper 150<sup>th<\/sup> in 47.10; Tim Argent 174<sup>th<\/sup> in 48.43 and Karen Wilks in 230<sup>th<\/sup> in 52.38. Not far behind was Alison Shearer, who ran another good race in 259<sup>th<\/sup> position with a time of 54.53. The final runner home for the club was Cath Johnston, having been taking part in triathlons recently, who came in 352<sup>nd<\/sup> in a time of 1.15.03.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Carolyn Ife, Felicity Towns and Kerry Jackson competed in the Chester Marathon and Metric Marathon on Sunday 4 October.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Carolyn ran the 16.4 mile (26.2km) Metric Marathon in a time of 3 hours 13 mins which she was pleased with having to drop from the full marathon distance due to injury and time off training.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Felicity and Kerry ran the full marathon distance and Felicity ran an excellent time of 5 hours 17 mins gaining a new PB by 3 minutes!
