\t\t\t\tThe Kibworth 6 race is licenced for up to 700 competitors.\u00a0 Race HQ will be the Sports Hall, Kibworth High School, which is on Smeeton Road (postcode LE8 0LG).\u00a0 League Official\u2019s race registration desk, club registration desks and sports clothing sales area will all be in the Sports Hall.The Kibworth WI will be offering refreshments in the Sports Hall Entrance.
\nThere are toilet facilities in the Sports Hall Entrance but there are limited changing facilities (other than in the Sports Hall itself) and we don\u2019t have access to showers.
\nIt is a bit of a walk from the Sports Hall to the Start Line so please advise all runners to give themselves enough time.\u00a0 The race will start promptly at 10.30 a.m.
\nThe race fee is \u00a35 for 2016 winter league races.
\nCancellation of Race<\/strong>
\nThe event could be cancelled on the day (or earlier) if extremely poor weather is encountered, the last dynamic risk assessment finds a major issue rendering the race unsafe, number of runners exceeding 700 limit, a \u201cno show\u201d for medical provision, and unsafe parking of cars around the immediate area of the school causing obstructions to householder and the route race.
\nParking \u2013 please car share wherever possible<\/strong>
\nThe following car parks will be available for runners in order of distance to the start \ufffd\ufffd\ufffd (closest first):
\nKibworth High School, Smeeton Road, Kibworth (LE8 0LG) \u2013 this car park will be closed until 0900 except for Disabled Drivers and Race Officials.\u00a0 Only cars with 3 or more occupants will be allowed entry into this car park.\u00a0 Cars will not be able to exit this car park between 10 a.m. and 10.45 a.m.
\nKibworth Health Centre, Smeeton Road, Kibworth (LE8 0LG) \u2013 small number of places
\nKibworth Grammar School Hall, School Road, Kibworth, LE8 0EW
\nKibworth Cricket Club, Fleckney Road, Kibworth, LE8 0HG \u2013 this car park is a fair walk to Race Q and the start
\nSafety<\/strong>
\nPlease remind runners to be prepared for whatever the weather decides to do.\u00a0 In March it can be cold (with increased risk of hypothermia – exposure\u2019) or warmer \u2013 please adjust clothing and preparations as needed. The age restriction is 17 years and above for runners.
\nPlease ask runners not to take their \u201ccool-down\u201d in the direction of the oncoming race runners. This is dangerous due to oncoming traffic and is a likely \u201cdisqualification\u201d for any runner that ignores the marshals\u2019 directions.
\nIt would be preferable for those wanting to \u201ccool-down\u201d to do so towards and around Kibworth village \u2013 while taking the necessary care of themselves and others in respect of traffic and other pedestrians.
\nWhile we understand that runners might want to provide support to runners finishing later than themselves, can we please ask that there
\nis no \u201ccoaching\u201d of other runners either on foot or by bike at the finish or elsewhere on the course.\u00a0 (It can be particularly confusing
\nfor those managing the finish when runners appear to finish twice).
\nPlease remind runners that headphones are not permitted and if worn runners may be asked to leave the race resulting in disqualification.
