\t\t\t\tChampion show!<\/span><\/strong>
\nFittingly, blue skies & superb running conditions greeted the 23 runners from\u00a0the Club\u00a0for the final race in this year\u2019s Derby Runner Cross Country League at Foremark Reservoir.<\/span>
\n It\u2019s been a gruelling cross country season but for the Club\u2019s men it\u2019s been a trophy winning one as they received the 2<\/span>nd<\/span><\/sup> Division Championship trophy at the post race presentation. Chris Pearson, who has run superbly all season, led the Club\u2019s runner\u2019s home in 16<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> place before he received his well-deserved series prize for winning the MV40 category. Another consistent scorer, Andy Hawtin was next in 26<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> before cross country debutant, Tom Bradley, ran well for 45<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>. Andy Windle & John Morgan had a close battle as they finished in 59<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> & 63<\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup> places respectively before Andy Orme, one of a number of team stalwarts, crossed the line in 80<\/span>th <\/span><\/sup>place. Colin Mee utilised his long languid stride to make steady progress through the field to finish in 89th with Tom Eyre, continuing his improvement, finishing in 99th. Adrian Middleton, battling well after recently tackling the 26 miles of the Belvoir Challenge, finished in 112<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> with Romain Chambard & James Cobb giving everything in finishing in 121<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> & 127<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> places respectively. Paul Glover & Steve Fowler, two others who recently tackled the long route of the Belvoir Challenge, showed no ill effects in finishing in 153<\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup> & 159<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> places. Gary Price continued his path back to full fitness with 169<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> place before the tightest inter-club battle saw Mark Nixon\u2019s 183<\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup> just edging out Richard Ward in 184<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>. Stuart Reeves & Dave Renshaw completed the Club\u2019s finishers in the men\u2019s race as they crossed the line in 187<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> & 192<\/span>nd<\/span><\/sup> places respectively.<\/span>
\nAfter undergoing a frustrating, injury blighted season, Christina Hawtin showed what the Club\u2019s women\u2019s team have been missing as she finished here in 4<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> place in the women\u2019s race with Caley Parnell, giving valuable support, finishing in 29<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>. Lisa Wright, another who has been a consistent performer across the series, finished in 46<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> with Kerry Ward & Inge Moore giving everything in finishing in 118<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> & 130<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> places respectively.<\/span>
\nMixing it with some of the best in the country, Louise Insley, continued her excellent recent form as she completed the Trafford 10k in a superb 38:05, a time also good enough to clinch 1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> place in her age category.<\/span>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
