{"id":3514,"date":"2017-07-19T15:18:11","date_gmt":"2017-07-19T15:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sdrr.co.uk\/?p=3514"},"modified":"2017-07-19T15:18:11","modified_gmt":"2017-07-19T15:18:11","slug":"crich-monument-brooksies-bash-10-mile-trail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdrr.co.uk\/?p=3514","title":{"rendered":"Crich Monument &#038; Brooksies Bash 10 Mile Trail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Saturday and Sunday saw another packed weekend of racing for SDRR, writes our man on the spot Phil Daws.<\/span><!--more--><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Three SDRR Amigos, Adrian Middleton, Gary Price &amp; Phil Daws headed to Crich for the annual Monument race.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">A wonderful Village Fete awaited the 213 runners who set out on a tough 11Km course that offered fast winding forest descents, pacey runs along the Cromford Canal, leading to a 1000ft quad busting climb to the Monument.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Phil Daws finished in 53rd place with a time of 56.44, followed by Adrian Middleton in 79th place with another PB and going under the hour in 59.59, and a very strong finish by Gary Price in 119th place with a time of 66.33.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Sunday saw a very strong contingent of SDRR runners head to Foremarke Hall for Brooksies Bash.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">In hot and humid conditions 233 runners took on a very undulating 10 mile trail course that encompassed all different types of terrain; fields, gravel, tarmac and woods.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">The beautiful scenery was sometimes missed as the runners battled to conquer steep climbs, but then were rewarded with yet more stunning views.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Fantastic results were achieved by the SDRR runners with Phil Daws finishing in 29th place and a time of 1.18.57, closely followed by Romain Chambard in 40th place and a time of 1.22.23, next in was Paul Hudson in 53rd place who is gaining pace with every race and finished in a time of 1.27.44.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">The first SDRR lady back was Lisa Wright finishing in 81st place and a time of 1.32.39, and hot on her heels was Kelvin Taylor in 83rd place and a time of 1.33.26.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Next in was the usual spouse battle between Paul &amp; Tracey Glover, with Paul taking the victory this time in 88th place and a time of 1.34.21, and Tracey in hot pursuit with a finish position of 95th and a time of 1.35.51.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">David Lunn was next and continues to make great progress, especially after some very recent tough midweek races, and finished just behind Tracy in 96th place and a time of 1.36.18.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Becky Moult was next in sporting a huge smile and an excellent 131st place with a time of 1.41.12,<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">followed by Stephen Tempest and James Cobb battling for the line, with respective finishing positions of 153rd and 155th, and times of 1.44.16 and 1.44.21.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Roger Cobb and Franckie Hughes were the next SDRR runners home, both breaking the sub two hour finish, in 212th and 216th place respectively and times of 1.59.02 and 1.59.49.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Times New Roman\">Jan Cobb was next home in 232nd place and a fantastic time of 2.12.52.
