{"id":421,"date":"2013-03-19T22:00:56","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T22:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sdrr.co.uk\/?p=421"},"modified":"2013-03-19T22:00:56","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T22:00:56","slug":"ashby-20-race-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdrr.co.uk\/?p=421","title":{"rendered":"Ashby 20 Race Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Chris sets the pace<\/h2>\n<p>With almost a 1000 runners completing the event, the Ashby 20 proved its now one of the\u00a0<!--more-->foremost races for\u00a0runners preparing for a spring marathon.<\/p>\n<p>Five runners from the Club fell into this category with Chris\u00a0Gunstone, preparing for the Edinburgh Marathon, continuing his excellent recent form to be first back\u00a0in 2.21.38 and an excellent 144th place. Not far behind was a resurgent Rob Lower, whose 2.23.04 and\u00a0148th place hints at a possible sub 3.15 in the upcoming London Marathon.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Orme was the odd one\u00a0out in that he\u2019s not planning a spring marathon but he emphasized his excellent endurance qualities and\u00a0the value of refueling at a well known burger chain with a well run 2.27.26 on his debut at the distance.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Leafe, who has entered the Stratford Marathon, was only 14 places behind his team mate in\u00a02.29.05 with another Stratford Marathon entrant, Mark Coombes also performing well for his 2.42.18.\u00a0Alison Shearer, a London Marathon entrant, was the Club\u2019s only entrant in the women\u2019s race and her\u00a03.15.12 indicates her training is going well.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Mason prepared for the London Marathon in a very different way by taking part in the British\u00a0Masters Cross Country Championship over an undulating 8km course at a very muddy Herrington\u00a0Country Park in Sunderland.
