Competing Runners must wear club vests

A reminder to all club members competing in local leagues that South Derbyshire Road Runners vests should be worn for the races. It is a mandatory requirement for the Burton
& District Summer League, Derby Runner X-Country and Leicestershire Road Race League and any other league or team race that the club enters.
This issue has caused much debate within the BDSL committee when a runner was reported recently for not wearing a club vest. This could lead to disqualifications and could also be a potential source of disagreement and acrimony between clubs, just the opposite to what the BDSL league are trying to achieve.
Obviously, discounting a runner’s result affects the team score, even if that runner has finished well down the field. Clubs take these league races very seriously, that is why they are so well attended, so we must play by the rules.
The message is simple: Get a club vest and wear it at ALL races!!!
