Training

On Monday and Wednesday evenings we meet at Greenbank Leisure Centre from 6.45pm, aiming to leave for our runs at 7pm. We cater for beginners as well as seasoned pro’s during our sessions by offering several options on our training nights.

Monday nights

They are ideal if you want to go for just a jog and a chat along the way. There are no structured training elements on Mondays. There will be two groups with one set at 4 – 5 miles in length, the other 6 – 7 miles, both of which will be lead by a qualified run leader who will shorten or extend the routes appropriately depending on those who attend each week.

Wednesday Nights

There are four groups on our Wednesday evening sessions

The Social Group: For new or experienced runners who just want to go for a jog and a chat along the way over a distance of 3-4 miles depending on the ability of runners that attend each week.

The Intermediate Group: For runners who want to add some structure to their training and can complete 4-5.5 miles in an hour. Sessions rotate between the following categories: Speed, Hill & Steady.

The Upper Group: For runners who want to add some structure to their training and can complete 5.5-7 miles in an hour. Sessions rotate between the following categories: Speed, Hill & Steady and offer a more intense option than the intermediate group.

The Advanced Group: For more experienced runners who want a structured training program and can complete 7 or more miles in an hour. A range of training sessions are completed including intervals, kenyon hills, drills, tempo, threshold and much more.
