A number of South Derbyshire Road Runners members took part in the National Forest 10k on Sunday. In a field of over 360 runners, on a testing mainly off-road course, Paul McKay did exceptionally well to finish in 24th place in a time of 42 minutes and 20 seconds, which also gained him the first prize in the Vet 60 category, by a wide margin. Following Paul was Steve Leafe, who managed a solid run to come in 34th position in 43 minutes 42 seconds.
The club had another 3 runners finishing well up the field, with the improving Dan Towns finishing 58th in 46 minutess and 6 seconds, over 3 minutes faster than his 10k race the previous week. Next in was Gary Price, with another strong run in a busy season, in 67th place with a time of 46 minutes and 28 seconds, whilst Adrian Middleton showed a strong improvement on his time from the previous year’s race, finishing in 82nd position in a time of 47 minutes and 15 seconds.
