On Saturday, for the first time, the Club entered 2 teams in the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) Cross Country Relays, which took place in the grounds of Moorways Stadium, Derby over an approximate 3.1km course. With clubs from all over the country & some of the top vet runners taking part it was a testing, if enjoyable experience for our teams with the WV45 team finishing 12th out of 13 and the MV55 team finishing 13th out of 15 teams.  The women’s team of Inge Moore, Carolyn Ife & Cath Johnson were first  in action with Inge & Carolyn recording exactly the same time of 17.47 & Cath 21.45. Colin Mee, resplendent in his new Club vest, was the quickest in the men’s team with 12.42, followed by Chris Gunstone in 12.47, Chris Mason in 13.08 & an injury hampered Malcolm Moore in 15.02.
The Club’s runners continue to be very prominent in the Conkers Parkrun with 15 turning out on Saturday morning. Most prominent was debutant Dominic Sharman, who won the run in a superb 17.57, Steve Fowler & Adrian Middleton who recorded PB’s of 21.13 & 21.50 respectively. For the evergreen Steve it was a 4th consecutive PB…….a tremendous effort
