Christmas Handicap Race

Chris Beats the Handicapper
On a terrible night of high winds & torrential rain 29 fools started our first Christmas Handicap race with 7 other fools making sure they went in the right direction. Seriously, thanks to everyone who turned out last night & thanks, in particular, to Mark, Steve, Malcolm, Adrian, Mick & Inge for marshalling & for valiantly trying to timekeep. Unfortunately, because of the weather we were unable to record finishing times & only just managed, with a bit of reviewing, to record the first 12 finishers. After everyone set off after Roger ‘the rabbit’ Barraclough first across the line was Chris Morton (13.30 after ‘the rabbit’) followed by Sam Skidmore (10.45), Nicky Thompson (10.00), Rob Belcher (17.00), Kevin Moore (9.20) & Dominic Sharman, who was the last starter, 23.15 mins after Roger. These were the prize winners. Relief to see that the handicapping was good enough for some close finishes with everyone eventually on Hearthcote Road together. Other finishing positions were:
7th, Andy Hawtin, 8th Aaron (we think), 9th Andy Orme, 10th Louise Insley, 11th Paul Chapman & 12th Suki Kaur.
