The latest SDRR runner to put in a prize winning performance was Kelly Knight who had a brilliant run at last Friday evening’s Colin Potter 10k to take the 2nd female prize in a time of 42.17 (writes Steve Leafe).
In a field of well over 400 runners, there were some other excellent performances, with Andy Hawtin finishing in 7th position overall, in a time of 36.25. Next home for the club, continuing his good form of late, was Stuart Halsey, who finished 21st overall in a time of 38.39, which placed him 2nd in the MV50 category. Andy Orme also ran well to finish 38th in a time of 40.48, followed home by Steve Leafe, who finished in 67th place in 43.10. Paul & Tracey Glover were next runners home for the club, with Paul in 127th in 47.28 coming in just ahead of Tracey, whose time of 48.18 earned her 141st overall.
Lisa Wright showed the benefit of endurance training for triathlon, and was very pleased with her time of 49.44, for 165th place, whilst Stuart Reeves took a course PB in 204th in a time of 52.06. Dave Lunn, preparing for the Spire 10 two days later, still ran strongly for 219th position in 52.50. Karen Wilks came in next for SDRR, in 232nd place in 53.40, reversing recent form with Robin Thorne, in 243rd in 54.23. Maria Allen found the going tough, but still battled through to come in 341st place in 61 minutes exactly.”
