5 SDRR runners worked off their Christmas excesses in the ever popular Huncote Hash cross country race on New Year’s Eve.
The course is around 6.5 miles and includes steep climbs, running through a stream, woodland trails and lots of mud. Leading the club home, in a time of 48:28, was Jack Leafe who finished in 25th place out of 341 finishers. He was followed home by father Steve, in 61st position in a time of 52:43. Not far behind Steve was Andy Orme, nursing a hamstring injury, finishing in 77th place, in a time of 53:52. Gary Price has been in good form lately, and had another good run posting a course PB of 56:39, placing 109th. Finally, making a welcome return from injury, Adrian Middleton ran a measured race to finish in 180th position in a time of 64:33.
