Saturday 28th saw three of our runners take on the tough challenge of the Snowdonia Marathon. The race starts and finishes in Llanberis, features some 2,800ft of climb over the tough 26,2 mile course and is a good test for any runner over what is a very scenic route.
Leading the way for SDRR was Alun Thomas with an incredible 20th place overall and a finish time of 2h 57m. Next to cross the finish line was Mark Harriott running 3h 31m and a course best by some 24 minutes at his third time at the race. Our ladies were represented by Jenny Laing who demonstrated continuing great form with 3h 36m and a very impressive 15th female overall.
Chris Gunstone, 3 weeks after tackling the Chester Marathon, was in marathon action again this weekend when he tackled the Dartmoor Vale Marathon. Along with 140 other hardy souls he battled well for his 3:33:41.
