SDDR RUNNERS OUT IN FORCE AT THE COLIN POTTER 10K
10 SDDR runners completed the Colin Potter 10k, which attracted a record field of around 400 runners, on a very hot Friday evening in Derby.
Leading the club home, in a superb time of 40 mins 55 secs for 24th place, was Andy Orme, who managed to overhaul Colin Mee, 28th in 41.17, in the later stages of the race. There was yet another strong performance from Shane Chapman, who finished just behind, in 30th place with a time of 41.38. Paul Chapman followed his brother in a time of 43.24 for 43rd place, with Steve Leafe a few places behind in 53rd, recording a time of 44.09.
Chris Gunstone, perhaps still feeling the effects of a challenging half marathon in Barra, paced himself for 71st place, in a time of 45.11. The club had a further two finishers inside the top hundred, with debutants Ben Hiron-Jones  finishing in 92nd, in 46.41, closely followed by Olwen Hiron-Jones in 98th in a time of 46.55. Next home for the club was Adrian Middleton in 114th place in a time of 47.52, whilst Mark Skidmore battled well in the heat for a time of 67.50 for 376th place.
