Women lead the way!
What a terrific turnout at the recent Burton 10k with 20 of the Club’s runners making the start line on a warm Sunday morning. It was really pleasing to see that 8 of the contingent were women with a number making their racing debuts. Leading the way overall was Andy Hawtin with a terrific sub-37 minute performance. The other significant performance from the men was Shane Chapman ducking below the 10k benchmark of 40 minutes over what is a challenging course. The real standout performance of the day though was Louise Insley’s 1st place and significant PB in the women’s race. Recent performances, including this one, have confirmed Louise’s position in the top 10 nationally in her age group. Times and positions are as follows:
