There was a strong turnout from SDRR at the Sinfin Classic 10k on Sunday with 19 runners in a field of over 400 finishers. Pride of place, writes our man on the spot, Steve Leafe,  has to go the Jenny Laing, Christina Hawtin and Katie Cotton who ran brilliantly to win the women’s team prize.First home for the club was Jack Leafe, who  achieved a pb of 36.46 in 16th position overall. He was closely followed home by Andy Hawtin, 18th in a time of 37.14, whilst James Cassidy was pleased with his time of 37m 52s which gained him 24th position. Jenny Laing was 40th overall, and 4th female runner home, in 39.37, with Christina Hawtin 5th female, and 55th overall in 40.57. She was closely followed by a number of SDRR runners with Steve Leafe, in 56th in 41.03 finishing just in front of Jon Mayman, racing for the first time in a number of years, coming home in 57th place in a time of 41.06. Andy Orme ran his usual well-paced race and was 59th in 41.13.
Stuart Halsey was coming back from injury, but still finished well inside the top 100, his time of 43.03 earning him 77th place. Next home was Katie Cotton, completing the race in 46.11 earning 129th place overall and completing the women’s team scorers in 19th place in the female category. Paul Glover was one place and one second behind Katie, just finishing ahead of wife Tracey, who was 135th in 46.25. Mitch Timms also ran well to come in 139th place, in a time of 46.33, whilst Gary Price continued his heavy racing schedule with a time of 47.17 earning him 150th position. Laura Harper just failed to break the 50 minute barrier, but was still pleased with her time of 50.20s and 196th place, followed by David Lunn, whose time of 51.17 was just outside his pb, but still good enough for 208th position. Seran Bradley came in next for the club, in 251st position in 54.26, followed home by Maria Allen whose time of  55.27 earned her 271st position, and Alison Shearer who came in 309th position in a time of 57.30.
