A message from The Junior parkrun event director

We recently received a very nice email from Sam Screaton event director for Swadlincote Junior parkrun. Please take a read to see how our members efforts are appreciated and those members involved can give themselves a well deserved pat on the back.

I just wanted to drop you a line to thank SDRR for their amazing support during the first year of Swadlincote junior parkrun. Week after week SDRR members have stepped forward to help as volunteers.
To name everyone who has helped over the past year would no doubt result in me missing some people out, so I won’t attempt it! One particular highlight has been Andy Orme popping up when he can, whether to marshal, cheer the children on or indeed his fantastic pacing as ‘Hare with no hair’ Hopefully some of the children taking part will make the transition to SDRR when choosing a club in the future. Our event wouldn’t be in the strong position it is without you guys, and for that the core team and I are truly thankful.
Kind Regards
Samantha Screaton
