Wymeswold Waddle

“Not such nice weather for ducks.”
On the hottest day of the year so far, 6 SDRR runners ventured across to Wymesworld, to take on the Wymeswold Waddle. A five mile out-and-back race taking place before the “famous” Leicestershire duck races on a course described as “uphill on the way out, and uphill on the way back” by many members of the club!

Good running conditions greeted the 270 starters for the second leg of this year’s Burton & District Summer Road Racing League, the Uttoxeter Half Marathon. ‘Run in the Forest’ 5, Derby 10k, Manchester Marathon & Reading Half.

The first race in this year’s Burton & District Summer Road Racing League, The Run in the Forest 5, took place on Sunday and, despite having to concentrate on marshalling our own race and with a number of runners resting before next Sunday’s London Marathon, it was a really strong competitive showing from the Club.
