Stuart battles through
It was back to the roads for the Club’s contingent of 26 as they lined up with over 2500 others on Sunday for the Worksop Halloween Half Marathon. Saturday 28th saw three of our runners take on the tough challenge of the Snowdonia Marathon. The race starts and finishes in Llanberis, features some 2,800ft of climb over the tough 26,2 mile course and is a good test for any runner over what is a very scenic route. Continue reading →
Gareth leads the way!!
The road shoes were temporarily put away last weekend and the cross country shoes and spikes given a quick clean as the annual mud fest of the Derby Runner Cross Country League got underway at Bagworth Heath. 35 runners from the Club lined up with over 500 others to tackle the notoriously heavy course. There were 9 runners from the Club in the Palma half marathon, which once again was run in very warm conditions. In a field of just under 4,000 runners the club had 7 finishers in the top 250, a great showing in such a large race . Continue reading →
Champion finale!!!
Sunday’s Tamworth 5 was the latest race in this year’s Club Championship and the last race in the 2017 Burton and District Summer Road Racing League (BDSL). It was also the race where the Club’s men clinched the team prize in this year’s series after the Club’s women had already secured their respective trophy with a race to spare. Continue reading →
