It was another busy weekend for the Club’s runners with some terrific performances in conditions not experienced for some time. Leading the way was Rob Eaton in the Paris Marathon with his tremendous 02:40:00 being the Club’s fastest and third sub 3 hour marathon this month. Also well worthy of mention are Gareth Watkins excellent 10th place finish in the Derby 10k in 34:24 and Andy Hawtin’s 4th place finish in 29:40 in the Club’s own race, the ‘Run in the Forest 5’. Alun-Lloyd Thomas is in a rich vein of form at present and he continued this in the second Club Championship race of the season, the Markfield 10k. He led the Club’s contingent of 15 home in a sparkling chip time of 34:47 and a 4th place finish in this very competitive Leicestershire Winter League fixture. Continue reading →

Stilton 7 and Belvoir Challenge
With so many of the Club's runners taking part in the Belvoir Challenge on Saturday there was a disappointing turnout of only 6 for the first Club Championship race of 2017, the Stilton 7. However, what was missed in quantity was more than made up in quality with Alun-Lloyd Thomas following up his Club record breaking half marathon performance the previous weekend with another Club record setting run in this event.
