James out in front!!!!
Sunday saw the penultimate race in this year’s Burton and District Road Running League, the Burton 10k. The 243 runners who finished the race were treated to that rarity this summer of cool, damp conditions. Continue reading “Burton 10k”
Mercifully, while hot, it was a few degrees cooler for the Worthington 5 than for other recent races. This latest leg of the Burton and District Summer League over a flat ‘out and back’ course along the Cloud Trail was significant in the Club’s continued domination of both the individual and team prizes. Onwards and upwards!!!!
The sun continues to blaze and, together with a rutted, off road course, contributed to relatively slow 10k times but what didn’t change were the Club’s runners at the sharp end of the field in Sunday’s St Giles Hospice, Gate Gallop. Continue reading “St Giles, Gate Gallop 10k”
Doddle for Dave!!!!
There was a great turn-out of 43 runners from the Club for the latest leg of this year’s Burton and District Summer League (BDSL), the Burton 10m. Chris speeds home!!!

Consolidation is the name of the game!!!
26 runners from the Club made their way to the Bosworth Battlefield site for the final race in this year’s Derby Runner XC Series. While injuries, illness and competing priorities meant that a number of the Club’s highest finishers were missing it was the strength in depth that looks like it consolidated the mixed and men’s team in 4th place in Division 1 and the women’s team in a superb 2nd place in the 2nd Division of the women’s league.
